Expect Adversity

Devotional: Jesus Calling

Written By: Sarah Young

Expect to encounter adversity in your life, remembering that you live in a deeply fallen world. Stop trying to find a way that circumvents difficulties. The main problem with an easy life is that it masks your need for Me. When you become a Christian, I infuse My very Life into you, empowering you to live on a supernatural plane by depending on Me.

Anticipate coving face to face with impossibilities: situations totally beyond your ability to handle. This awareness of your inadequacy is not something you should try to evade. It is precisely where I want you- the best place to encounter Me in My Glory and Power. When you see armies of problems marching toward you, cry out to Me! Allow Me to fight for you. Watch Me working on your behalf, as you rest in the shadow of My Almighty Presence

Revelations 19:1
After this I heard what seemed to be the loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, crying out,
"Hallelujah!
Salvation and glory and power belong to our God,.."

Psalm 91:1-2
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most Hight will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the LORD, "My refuge  and my fortress, my God in whom I trust"

-God

When you live a life with Christ don't expect it to be an easy road. Jobs, Kids, Relationships, Payments, Bills, Material things, Schedules.. they all add up. They all add up to make your mind so full and wrapped around what you have to do rather than the one thing we should be doing which is: resting, trusting and taking delight with our Beautiful Mighty Savior.

Our job is actually an easy one, just focus on God.
Focusing on Him means obeying, loving, trusting and learning about Him.
However, the difficulty lies in what we have to give up in order to do those things.

                                             Why is that?
It seems that the things we don't enjoy, in fact don't want, are the very things we carry around with us disabling us to do our one job, focusing on Him.

What are you carrying with you that keeps you from giving your whole life to God?

What is more important than our God and following Him?

There is a peaceful joyous adventure ahead for those who focus on Jesus. There may many armies of problems coming right for you but lay down your sword at the feet of Jesus and watch how He wields it to provide and show His love for you.
Take Delight for our God gave us a Hero, our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Romans 12:2
"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."
