Happy Chinese New Years!

Where we live, like all parts of Asia right now are Celebrating the Chinese New Year! You don't even have to live in China to hear about people's plans to celebrate. We even heard it is big in Thailand when we visited. Here in our city fireworks will be blazing and howling for the next 15 days! 

Tonight is just day one! Everything shuts completely down and everyone throws parties. 

Tonight our gang of westerners & locals, threw a non-traditional party of Mexican Potluck... haha. 

We all ate, talked, and went to the roof to watch and set off fireworks! 

Here are some pictures of our fireworks, and others through out the city! I wish I could really capture the craziness of all this. It is completely unsafe but lots of fun!

I wish this picture could capture all the fireworks. They were everywhere! and I heard at midnight its the most crazy!

This is outside Phil and I's bedroom window! 

Lily (sitting on the freezer), Cade, Dassah, Viv, Phil and I all cram into our laundry room to watch the fireworks in the street below! Sparks even hit our window a few times! Good thing all the buildings are made out of concrete.  

It exploded right in front of us almost level to our apartment window. 

I guess just another day in Asia. 

Tonight is suppose to get crazier!
